Motley Crue Singer Vince Neil Undergoes Surgery

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil underwent successful surgery to remove the kidney stones that forced the band’s Sunday night (March 10) concert in Sydney, Australia to be cut short so the singer could be rushed to the hospital.
Bassist Nikki Sixx first revealed the news in real time (approximately 8:30PM ET) on Twitter: “@TheVinceNeil is in surgery right now. He’s a true warrior.” He has since gone on to explain the entire situation via Facebook: “This morning we found out (Vince) had to be admitted into surgery to remove kidney stones. He just got out 5 minutes ago and the doctors said everything went well in the operating room.”
Sixx went on to praise his bandmate’s fighting spirit, explaining that Neil was doubled over just before showtime, and that the promoter told him not to try and perform. “But Vince said he couldn’t do that to the fans,” Sixx recounted. “I’ve seen Vinnie go onstage with broken bones, his voice completely blown out and torn ligaments but he never ever cancels…Just like an athlete you sometimes have to play through the pain but last night it became too excruciating.”
Update: Neil does indeed seem to be on the mend, as he has posted a pair of Twitter posts thanking his fans and the hospital staff for their kind words and assistance:
Just out of surgery. Spent night in hospital probably have to again tonight. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers.

Doc says I should have a full recovery and be back onstage for the Brisbane show tomorrow. Thanks to my bandmates and crew for your support!
