20 years ago today, in 1995, legendary disc jockey WOLFMAN JACK died of a heart attack at age 57. He passed away almost immediately after returning home from a promotional tour for his autobiography, "Have Mercy".  He walked into his house, hugged his wife, said "Oh, it is so good to be home!", and literally died in his wife's arms.

You may know him from his appearance in the movie American Graffiti or maybe you heard him on the air. I loved the 1974 tribute from The Guess Who, Clap For The Wolfman. I loved the Wolfman's line "Oh baby, you got the curves, I got the angles...." Hell, truth be told, I used it once.

If if you never heard him, chances are good he influenced the disc jockeys you grew up with. I had the pleasure of working with him one night while I was in Denver radio. He was bigger than life when he was on, but when the spotlight or the mic was off, he was soft spoken, polite and totally ingratiating.

He helped me fall in love with radio. Thanks for some great radio and for the inspiration on some of the bits I've done. You live on Wolfman!
