After her performance in the preliminary round, Shaw posted this message on her Facebook page. "I played my heart out tonight! Violin for me has always been something I have done for fun and I want to share it with as many people as possible. Tonight I got to do that. It was by no means perfect, but hey nothing ever is! I hope that in some way I made someone in the audience smile, because that was my goal."

The 21 year old Laramie native recently graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Marketing. Now living in Cheyenne, she plans to return to Wyoming following the competition to continue her work promoting music programs in local schools.
