A Natrona County man is accused of being involved in a DUI related crash, that injured two other people in his vehicle.

Lyle Hartmann has pleaded not guilty to two charges of DUI resulting in serious bodily injury.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says in middle to late October, Troopers were called to the Natrona County Detention Center, to investigate a crash, because a detention center deputy's parked vehicle had been hit.

The driver of the other vehicle, later identified as Hartmann, estimated he was going at about 60 miles per hour on the road, and had been drinking alcohol about two hours prior.

He was arrested after failing several sobriety tests, and Troopers later learned that Hatmann had an expired license (April 2016), plus more than one dozen traffic violations on his driving record from Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota, as well as having his privilege withdrawn by North Dakota in May 2016.

Two of three people inside Hartmann's vehicle were taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries.

An employee at the juvenile detention center witnessed the event, and informed Troopers that the center's video system recorded what had happened.

Hartmann is free on $2,500 bond awaiting trial, and could face up to 10 years in prison on each charge if convicted.

Since it was a county employee's vehicle that was hit, the Patrol was called in to handle the investigation.
