Don't do stupid stuff this Memorial Day weekend and get arrested for it.

For that matter, don't do stupid stuff, period.

Natrona County and Casper Police law enforcement officers offer these reminders as the unofficial beginning of summer is upon us.

"We want everybody to have a safe weekend," Police Sgt. Mike Ogden said.

"If you're going out drinking, make sure you have a designated driver," Ogden said.

The police department will have its traffic unit out looking for impaired drivers, he said.

Ogden also reminded pet owners to keep their furry friends on a leash.

Likewise, the Natrona County Sheriff's Office wishes everyone to have a fun and safe weekend, and not drink and drive, Sgt. Aaron Shatto said. "Also, don't boat and drink."

If you do drink, assign a designated driver for both vehicles and boats, Shatto said.

The Sheriff's Office oversees law enforcement at Alcova, Pathfinder and Gray Reef reservoirs.

"Memorial Day weekend, we have extra patrols out there, and so there will be extra deputies patrolling the lake and the campgrounds as well," he said.

For those who are camping, respect your neighbors, keep your music down and observe the quiet hours beginning at 10 p.m.
