Parklen Henderson is a 5 year old boy who was born with an autoimmune disease that has affected every day of his life. He has spent the majority of his short existence in and out of the hospital with countless surgeries, procedures, and treatments. After his most recent flare-up, the doctors have decided that his only hope to survive is a bone marrow transplant. Since this disease has never been documented before, and the exact outcome of the upcoming transplant is unsure, but there are no other options. Parklen, his mom, and his little sister will be moving to Denver in October to start the medical process, and the family needs your help.

Rather than just asking people to donate money, the family has decided to host a 5K Super Race to help curb the overwhelming financial strain this surgery and trip will have on the them. Set for Saturday, September 14th, the 5K will begin and end at Ft. Caspar - rain or shine. Registration will run from 7:30am - 8:30am, with the event starting at 9am.

Considering Parklen is a HUGE fan of Superman and Batman, his family encourages all participants to wear their favorite Super Hero costume, just to add a little fun to the event!

Cost per participant is $30 for 13-up, $15 for kids 4-12, and children under 4 are free. For more information, or to register early, visit their Facebook page here, or hit their website here.
