Katy Perry will welcome Lenny Kravitz to the Superbowl Halftime Stage, February 1st in Glendale, Arizona.

The NFL tweeted, "Joining @KatyPerry during her @pepsi @superbowl #halftime show on @SNFonNBC? Mr @LennyKravitz. Feb 1 can’t come soon enough!"

The duo will have their work cut out to uphold what has become a standard in recent years for the headliner to bring out a special guest.

Perry told NBC's Willie Geist that performing alongside the 50-year-old guitarist would make her more "cool," but the announcement seems to signal a new shift the NFL is taking for its Super Bowl entertainment.

Think back to last year:

Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyonce and her Destiny's Child bandmates, Madonna and Nicki Minaj, and The Black Eyed Peas and Slash, for example.

Katy will appear on NBC's Today show on Monday, where she'll likely discuss Lenny's guest appearance.
