Singing the Ben E. King hit ‘Stand by Me’ together is nothing new for Lady Gaga and Sting.

But at last weekend’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, they took their onstage collaboration to the next level by also performing a version of The Police‘s ‘King of Pain.’

As she introduced her surprise guest on Sept. 24, a touchy-feely Gaga briefly caressed a smiling Sting’s neck, leaving behind some of the fake blood she had on her upper body.

“Sexy,” she then purred, before adding, “Sting is one of my very favorite people in the whole world … when I started in this business, I started to meet really amazing, incredible musicians, real legends — but they’re not always very nice. But Sting is one of the most kind and loving people I’ve ever met.”

Following ‘Stand by Me,’ Sting strapped on a bass guitar for their rendition of ‘King of Pain,’ which he wrote for The Police’s 1983 album, ‘Synchronicity.’

When their two-song union was over, Gaga, of course, got in the last word. “I just might have to follow him offstage because he’s cute,” she said as Sting exited.

Gaga and Sting had previously performed ‘Stand by Me’ as part of a star-studded May 2010 concert at Manhattan’s Carnegie Hall to benefit the Rainforest Foundation.
