A Casper man is accused of assaulting a woman over a trivial kitchen issue.

Kirk Danner has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and battery by way of threatening with a drawn deadly weapon, one count of domestic battery, and one count of interference with emergency calls.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say on Sunday evening August 28th, officers responded to call of a family fight on East 25th street.

The victim said Danner had made a meatloaf dinner, and before he put it in the oven, she warned him about it overflowing out of the pan, which it eventually did.

Danner then took the victim's phone, struck her in the chest, and tied up her ankles with dental floss.

He later threw knives at the victim, struck her in the chest with one knife, but did not break the skin, wrapped the dental floss around the victim's neck, then took a knife and cut himself.

For unknown reasons, the attacks then ceased, Danner returned the phone and said he was going to Denver.

The victim added that Danner had mental issues.

Danner was eventually taken into custody and when interviewed, he said he couldn't remember what he was angry about, and that his driving away was a coping mechanism, to try and alleviate his stress and anger.

He is awaiting trial on $10,000 bond, and could face up to 10 years in prison, on the aggravated assault charge if convicted.
