Come up with an adjective or sports cliche. Barn Burner...Inspirational Loss....Backs Against the Wall....Moral Victory....they all applied Friday night as the Kelly Walsh Trojans Men's Basketball team ( lost a game in overtime to Evanston 50-48. They just don't get any closer. And for a team that just two years ago only won two games this was an incredible game and an incredible season. One game away from playing for a State title. A heart breaker. But it was Evanston's Matt Johnston that hit the buzzer beater that ended the Trojans bid for a state title. Kelly Walsh sophomore Drew Petrie had 15 points to lead the way, while junior Kooper Adams had 14 points and senior Jacob Tapp added 13 points. But if you asked any one of those kids if they would of given up their points for a win...every one of them would of said yes.

For the NCHS Fillies. The story was almost the same. Their nemesis from the North the Gillette Camels close out the Fillies bid for a state title taking down the girls 54-44. So no state title for the Fillies as well. Tough night for Casper. Tough night.
