Thus far 'Justified' season 5 has only let loose that the 2014 premiere "A Murder of Crowes" would see Raylan Givens headed down to Florida to interact with the infamous Crowe clan (relationship to Dewey pending), and now we have our first clue about what they'll look like. Character actor Michael Rapaport is the first new guest star to take a major recurring arc in 'Justified' season 5 as Crowe patriarch Dale Jr., but is he the new big bad for the year?

TVLine first revealed the news of Rapaport's casting, unable to reveal what explicit connection the Florida Crowes have to fan-favorite character Dewey Crowe (Damon Herriman), whose potential storylines were squeezed out of season 4 for time. Rapaport's Dale Jr., however, has been described as a "sexy and charismatic" ex-convict patriarch to the white-trash Florida family, whose savvy ruthlessness makes him an effective villain with a gator farm for cover.

Yet to be cast is the role of the Crowe's public-facing sister Wendy, while Rapaport joins after leaving behind CBS Will Arnett comedy 'The Millers.'

Elsewhere, we know of ‘Justified’ season 5 that the action will pick up with Boyd also desperate to get Ava out of prison, putting revenge on Lee Paxton (‘LOST‘'s Sam Anderson), Sheriff Mooney and Johnny Crowder (David Meunier) on the back burner. Raylan will have both his potential promotion and the long-awaited birth of his daughter to worry about, while showrunner Graham Yost previously expressed a desire to craft a new means of driving the character action beside the big bad and mystery approaches already used in recent seasons.

Well, what say you? Are you eager to resume the tales of Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder, now that Michael Rapaport has joined as our first major obstacle? What do you want to see when ‘Justified’ season 5 premieres in 2014?
