I remember exactly where I was on the night of December 8th. When I heard that Marc David Chapman fired five shots, outside the Dakota apartment house, killing John Lennon, hitting the ex-Beatle four times in front of his wife, Yoko Ono, and others. I was working at a radio station. And I was heart broken that the life of John Lennon had been ended so tragically. And now Mark David Chapman is going to stay in prison. He was denied parole. "The man who shot dead former Beatle and British music legend John Lennon has been denied parole for the eighth time, New York prison authorities confirmed on Friday.Mark David Chapman was sentenced to between 20 years to life imprisonment in 1981 after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder." The New York Parole Board had it's reason for the denial. ""Your release would be incompatible with the welfare of society and would so deprecate the serious nature of the crime as to undermine respect for the law." http://nr.news-republic.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=27781103&m=d
