Surely you have seen this photo around the web, it's made all of the "world's worst tattoo" lists. Well, it took the world's greatest tattoo artist to fix it, his name is Scott Versago.

Lets start at the beginning of the story...

An Ohio man, Chad Stahl, had a tattoo done in memory of his late wife Mindy who was tragically killed in a house fire, leaving him to raise their three kids. The guy that did the original is obviously more proof that meth don't do itself, because it was bad... REAL BAD. The guy inked out some sort of witch with braces looking thing for the memorial tattoo.

The pic of the bad tattoo ended up on the web five years ago, because the artist's, (using that word loosely), assistant hated him, and put it on "MySpace" to hurt his reputation. It was so bad, that it is still circulating on "bad tattoo" lists around the world today.

Earlier this month Chad decided to get the tattoo repaired, if he could find a good artist. He chose a guy by the name of Scott Versago at Empire Ink in Akron Ohio.

Scott wrote on his facebook page,

I got to tackle the official "#1 worst portrait tattoo in the world" today. I'm sure you've all seen it a million times online, as had I. I couldn't believe my eyes when this guy walked in and showed me this project. I think my jaw literally hit the floor. He went on to tell me the story behind the portrait; He had just married his beautiful wife and not even three months afterwards she was killed in a horrible house fire accident leaving him to raise their three children alone. Shortly after he went to a local tattoo studio to memorialize his wife and was left with this abomination. He later returned to that studio for one more session, thinking that perhaps "he had done something wrong in the healing of the tattoo" and they butchered it even more the second time. Touched by his story, I gifted the entire project to him for free. Now he has closure and I have an amazing story to add to my portfolio!"

It took a little more than 3 hours to do, but he transformed that ugly tat into a truly beautiful work of art, and an awesome tribute to the mans wife.

Best of all, Scott fixed the tattoo for FREE!

I can't say he is the best in the world, but from my little bit of experience I can see he is most definitely one of them, and I am pretty sure that Scott Versago is about to get extremely busy, and probably a lot more expensive. Call Empire Ink at 330-928-9833.

(Scott, if you read this... I need one of my dog Cletus, let me know when you can work me in. Thanks.)
