So lets say you started a band. You wanted to be the lead singer. Hires some of your friends...worked you're but off to get really good. Became stars. Went to rehab. Went to rehab again. Almost died and went to rehab again. Meanwhile your friends decide to kick you out of the band you started, wrote the songs for, and pretty much established as on of America's foremost rock bands. Stone Temple Pilots did just that. They kicked Scott Weiland out of his own band. And then hired the singer from Blink 182 as their front man. So what would you do? Why you would sue your former bandmates that what you would do. And to quote Scott Weiland ""How do you expel a man from a band that he started, named, sang lead on every song, wrote the lyrics, and was the face of for 20 years, and then try to grab the name and goodwill for yourselves," Weiland's complaint states. "You don't, but three of the instrumentalists from the band Stone Temple Pilots tried." http://us.news-republic.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=9747821

And now it's a mess.Look for two different versions of Stone Temple Pilots to take to the road. Until a judge shuts the whole circus down.
