How Lucky Can I Get? Let's See...

All of a sudden, all power is gone, dashboard warning lights all come on and I think “Son-of-a-$#@^!”

My pickup was on empty as I’m driving east on very busy street, in the far right lane, (lane #2).

All of a sudden, all power is gone, dashboard warning lights all come on and I think “Son-of-a-$#@^!” I check the mirror, car coming up in left lane (lane 1). I am still coasting and I let him pass, and then I take that lane.

Oncoming cars could be a problem as I need to turn left and cross westbound lanes to make it into a gas station. Luckily, there’s a gap in traffic and I fight the lack of power steering and turn in with a hard left in order to get over to the pumps.

Wonder of wonders, I still have enough momentum to coast right on up to the pumps and I actually have to lightly press my brakes to stop.

WOW, DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN? I didn’t get stranded in a busy street, but actually did some tricky maneuvering to coast right up to the pump. Wow, what luck!!

But how lucky am I? I hit a large number of green lights on the way home and I thought “Lucky me!” I should buy some lottery tickets while my good fortune is this hot.

So I stopped and bought 4 Lottery tickets. If all goes well, I may not be in after the next drawing.
