Elton John is one of many artist guesting on Smokey Robinson's duet album set to be released on August 19th.

Elton collaborates on  "The Tracks of My Tears" a tune he says could be the greatest pop song ever written.

A month ago, a video was released in which Elton commented on the song, and Smokey’s influence on his own career. He called “Tracks of My Tears” “maybe the greatest pop song ever written.”

Elton said of Smokey’s ability as a lyricist, “His lyrics always struck me as being so great and so direct and so simple and so heartfelt…He’s been in my heart ever since I was…17.”

The list of guest artists on Smokey & Friends also includes Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Aloe Blacc, Cee Lo Green, James Taylor and Sheryl Crow.
