Summertime fishing in Wyoming means bait in the water early or late in the day, if you want a fish dinner. Your best chances of filling that frying pan will come from hiking in to The Medicine Bow’s smaller lakes. If you don’t mind some company, Rob Roy Reservoir is good for trout.

Hitting The North Platte River and Encampment in the Saratoga Valley, and The North Platte Grey Reef & Miracle Mile is also a good bet with the right bait. When’s the last time you tried a grasshopper?

Granite, Crystal & North Crow has the camping and the crowds that go with it, but anglers are bringing some fish in on crawlers and salmon eggs. Glendo should get you some walleye from the bank or boat.

Good luck, but even if you don’t catch a thing, it’s always a win taking in the great Wyoming outdoors.

Here’s a song to get you psyched. It’s Fishin’ Blues from the headline act we’ll have at Beartrap next weekend on Casper Mountain, Its The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, along with Taj Mahal and Vassar Clements - Fishin' Blues
