The legal settlement recently reached by Geoff Tate and Queensryche means it's time for Tate to let go of the band name once and for all. But first, he's going out for one last round of tour dates under the Queensryche banner.

Dubbed 'Queensryche Starring Geoff Tate - The Farewell Tour,' the shows are set to start July 30 in Hermosa Beach, Calif., and run through August 30 in Bolingbrook, Ill, with a set list that promises to include "all the hits along with some rarities" -- after which Tate will walk away with the exclusive rights to perform the band's 'Operation: Mindcrime' and 'Operation: Mindcrime II' albums in concert.

"One thing that's really important for fans to know is that this never went to court," said Tate in a press release. "It's sort of similar to the Pink Floyd situation where Roger Waters retained 'The Wall.' 'Mindcrime' was my thing and my story, so it's only appropriate that I keep that...The others will be touring as Queensryche and I'll be continuing on as me."
