Geniuses Uses Tesla Coils To Play ‘House Of The Rising Sun’

“House Of The Rising Sun” was an old folk song popularized by Huddy Leadbetter – aka Leadbelly. The Animals made it mainstream in the 60’s, and then Five Finger Death Punch changed the lyrics and location in their recent rendition. Now, old technology has brought this tune back to the fore-front.
Back in 2011, Steve Caton and Eric Goodchild decided to test their musical Tesla Coils with this iconic tune. According to their YouTube page:
These are two gigantic solid state musical Tesla Coils. A Tesla Coil is a special type of transformer invented by Nikola Tesla that is able to generating extremely large voltages using a phenomenon known as electrical resonance. Each coil in this video is capable of generating a 13 foot spark. This equates to about 500,000 volts of electricity.
That’s a lot of juice for one tune…which should make rockers around the world proud!
