Three weeks after a brutal public beating forced Gavin DeGraw to temporarily withdraw from his slot on the Maroon 5/Train tour, he’s back on the road.

DeGraw rejoined the tour last week, in time for its stop at the New York State Fair, and managed to get in a few dates at the tail end of his scheduled run, including shows in Uncasville, Conecticut; Syracuse, New York; and Holmdel, New Jersey.

Matt Nathanson takes over the opening slot on the tour this week, while DeGraw will busy himself with the promotional campaign for his upcoming album, ‘Sweeter,’ due September 20. He’s currently scheduled to return to the road in November.

DeGraw is still recovering from the injuries he sustained during the attack, which left him with a broken nose and a concussion, but he’s in high spirits. As he tweeted to his fans last week, “Hi my friends. Honestly, I don’t remember much. I only know I can recover from here. Thank u all for your genuine concern. I love u guys.”
