The search continues for fugitive escapee Kenneth Ward, however the area of that search is now being focused on the Rawlins area.

According to Natrona County Sheriff Gus Holbrook, Ward was sighted in the Rawlins area.  "First he was sighted in Bairoil," says Holbrook.  "A man actually gave him a ride to Rawlins from Bairoil.  Once he got to Rawlins, the individual then called Sweetwater County and stated that he may have given the escapee a ride.  Sweetwater County then sent him a photo, which he positively identified as Kenneth Ward."

The search is now being headed by Law Enforcement in Rawlins and Carbon County.

Sheriff Holbrook goes on to say that the fugitive was also sighted by another individual who is familiar with Ward.

Ward was being transported by an independent transportation agency, when he escaped at the Independence Rock Rest Area, on State Highway 220, A week and a half ago.

He is described as a white male, 6’0″, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.  At the time of his escape, Ward was wearing khaki shorts, a black shirt and flip flops.

Authorities say that Ward has managed to get out of the handcuffs that he was wearing at the time of his escape.

Individuals who believe they have seen Ward are asked to contact Law Enforcement immediately and are advised to not approach him.

Ward is said to have a violent past.
