Former Wyoming Preacher Now Represents the Brothel Industry

George Flint is a second generation ordained Pentecostal minister. He was a preacher's kid, raised in the small eastern Wyoming town of Lusk.

For the past 30 years, Flint has also been the chief lobbyist for the Nevada Brothel Association.

It's not an industry he intended to represent. Growing up, he had heard about Dell Burke, the madam who operated the notorious Yellow Hotel brothel in Lusk for over six decades.

After leaving Wyoming, Flint settled near Reno, Nevada, where he opened up a wedding chapel. His business eventually expanded to Las Vegas, where he owned the renowned Chapel of the Bells. As a minister, he claims to have officiated over 100,000 weddings.

Flint got involved in politics in the 60s, when he was hired as a lobbyist for the wedding chapel industry. His relationships with Nevada legislators led to more gigs lobbying on behalf of doctors and opticians,

In 1985, Flint was hired to represent a new group, the Nevada Brothel Association. He's been advocating for the world's oldest profession ever since.

Now in his 80s, he is one of the most respected men in Nevada state politics. Last year, the state legislature declared April 12th as "George Flint Day".

When he finally retires, Flint already has a successor in mind. He's hoping that his daughter Margaret, who advocates for animal rights groups, will take over the family business someday.
