Former Wyoming Cowboys and Purdue University coach Joe Tiller passed away on the final day of September at the age of 74.

Tiller coached the Pokes from 1991-1996 before accepting an offer to coach Big Ten school, Purdue. He was in Indiana with the Boilermakers for nine years before retiring after the 2008 season. Immediately after retiring, the coach moved back to Wyoming, living his final nine years in Buffalo.

Perhaps Tiller's most famous athlete was current New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees who played at Purdue. Today Brees told PurdueSports.com...

"Today is a very sad day for me and the entire Purdue family, Coach Tiller was an important person in my life and to so many other guys who played for him. He did so much more than teach us how to win. He taught us life lessons and how to be great leaders and men. My thoughts and prayers are with Arnette, Julie, Renee and Mike."

Here's a few more reactions from around the football community.
