It’s getting on toward late season fishing and some of our Wyoming rivers are running low and the weeds and moss have grown but you can still get some fish in a pan. With Labor Day on the way, you won’t be alone if you venture out to take advantage of the remaining days of summer fishing.

If you’re looking for catfish, try Sloans or Absarraca lakes but be patient. Walleye are hit and miss at Glendo. Cool nights are helping the Encampment River produce even though it is running low. You can also depend on the upper reaches of The North Platte if you avoid the middle of the day. The North Platte Gray Reef is cloudy and may take a few lures in the weeds as toll.

The best fishing in The Cowboy State is in Snowy Range where you can avoid the crowds by hiking into some of the lesser fished lakes.
