The NFL made a town without a pro football team famous for the shoutout at the line of scrimmage. “Omaha” was the call to action right before the snap for the Denver Broncos.

Quarterback Peyton Manning has repeatedly sidestepped the question, even joking about it. His brother Eli says his brother stole it from him and they both owe it to Tom Brady.

Now, Peyton has set the record straight.

 

"It's just an indicator word.  It was a trigger word that meant we'd changed the play, there was low time on the clock, and the ball needed to be snapped right now."
