Wyoming became part of the First Transcontinental Airmail Route in 1920, helping to prove to the US government that airplanes could have a vital role in getting mail around the country faster than ever. But those early days of aviation were dangerous and wild. The cowboys of the air risked all in helping to open up and develop the west.

Learn more these adventurous times in a luncheon today, at Little America in Cheyenne, starting at 11:30 am. Michael Kassel, a curator at Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, will host a presentation about the men who flew the dangerous skies of the U.S. Air Mail Service.

RSVP 630-8384. Hosted by Cowgirls Of The West.
