Eagles Contribute Autographed Guitar to Newtown Auction
The Eagles are part of a diverse and star-studded collection of musicians who have donated memorabilia to help raise money for those whose lives were impacted by last December’s mass killings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Ct.
ABC News Radio is reporting that the rock legends, who are in the process of planning a tour to celebrate their 40th anniversary, have contributed a Takamine acoustic guitar (pictured left) signed by all four current members – Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit. The guitar will be part of an online auction called Music for Newtown, which takes place from March 25 – 27.
All of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, which provides support services to the families of the victims and the Newtown community at-large. The fund was set up by Newtown Savings Bank and the United Way of Western Connecticut, which has waived its fees for the auction.
Other artists who have contributed items include Taylor Swift, fun., Five for Fighting and Colbie Caillat. You can learn more about Music for Newtown, and view all the items up for bid, at their website.
