On Tuesday, January 12 the cities of Cheyenne and Casper will host Medicaid Expansion Community Forums. There will be a discussion by local business and medical professionals the effects Medicaid Expansion would have on communities in Wyoming.

Wyoming faces an estimated $200 million budget shortfall. Medicaid Expansion will bring an estimated $268 million tax dollars to Wyoming over a two-year period and would cover more than 20,000 residents who earn too little to receive financial help to purchase insurance and are not eligible for Medicaid.

Wyoming loses $310,000 every day that we decide not to expand Medicaid, totaling over $220 million lost since the start of 2014. Not only will this funding make it possible to provide affordable, quality health coverage to more Wyomingites, but it frees up funding that the legislature can redirect to other important areas like education and supporting our cities, towns, and counties.
