We boast about being able to do things differently in Wyoming!  But how can we deal with the loss of a friend and a loved one, especially when it's someone who meant so much to all of Wyoming?

With the passing of our dear friend Brian Scott Gamroth on Sunday, all of us are facing the grief of this loss in different ways.

Experts will tell you that in order to cope with grief you need to regain control of your world and face your feelings.  But in Wyoming, dealing with feelings can be a difficult task to say the least.

So, I thought I'd try and help not only myself, but maybe a few others by coming up with a few ways we in Wyoming can face the pain and still honor our fallen friend.

1 - Go for a drive!  There is so much to see in Wyoming and as the colors of fall are all around us, take a drive and enjoy the beauty around you.

2 - Go Hunting or Fishing!  Brian loved to hunt and fish and you could honor his memory and spend some therapeutic time in the back country or on your favorite stretch of Wyoming water.

3 - Gather with Family or Friends!  Brian meant so much to so many, including yours truly.  Brian has touched so many lives and it seems just about everyone who came in contact with Brian has a story to tell or a favorite memory.  Get together with some friends and share those memories.

4 - Donate Time or Money to your favorite Charity! We all know Brian was heavily involved with many different charitable organizations across the cowboy state.  Take time out to donate to your favorite charity or volunteer your time and get involved.

5 - Do Something Creative!  Express yourself and your emotions by doing something creative.  Take pictures and post them online for others to enjoy, Try your hand a painting, learn a new hobby, or something else that allows you to express yourself.

As we grieve the loss of a Wyoming Icon as well as a friend, try to do things that will positively impact others around you.  Try to engage others, participate in activities and take time out to enjoy the simple things around us.  Above all, take time for self-reflection and never lose hope!  Brian meant so much to so many and would want us all to learn from his life and discover new things in our own.

If there is something else you'd like to add to this list, I'd invite you to leave it in a comment below.  Thanks!
