CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Black bear hunters who want to use bait for the spring season have until March 20 to register their existing baiting sites.

Hunters who registered baiting sites last year can register the same sites between March 1 and March 20. Bait sites are registered for the year and cannot be changed until the following year.

Registration of unclaimed bait sites begins April 1 at Game and Fish regional offices. Bear hunters must have a current black bear license to register a bait site.

No bear bait may be placed on state, federal or Game and Fish lands without first registering the bait site.
