Dan Peek of ‘America’ Is Dead

Dan Peek  founding member of America passed away on July 24th. He was 60 years old. Dan formed America in 1970 with Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell.

All three were sons of military personnel stationed at the U.S. Air Force Base in London and met while in high school. The band produced 9 top 40 hits and two number ones. Dan was the lead singer on "Lonely People."
