Ending one of the most talked about losing streaks in recent NASCAR history, Dale Earnhardt Jr. got a win in the Quicken Loans 400 in Michigan by more than five seconds ending his 143 race drought.

Junior’s win in Michigan is his first since winning at the track four years ago.  This is Earnhardt’s nineteenth Cup Series victory.  This win also puts Earnhardt Jr. in second place in the points standings.

The top five from Michigan International Speedway was Junior for the win, Tony Stewart in second, third was points leader Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle in fourth followed by Jimmie Johnson in fifth.

Next up is road coarse racing in Sonoma California with the Toyota Save Mart 350.  Kurt Busch won this race in 2011, though with all of his troubles, it’s a long shot for him this year.  The race will be on TNT beginning at 1 p.m. central.
