When a team loses it's best player, it's understood that others on the team need to step up and fill the gap. But when your best player has the talent of a Larry Nance Jr. who is officially out for the season due to injuries, those are big shoes to fill. And for a while yesterday it looked like the Wyoming Cowboys (17-10, 8-6) were going to be able to fill the missing gap. The Cowboys were tied at half time, 31-31 against Colorado State.  But the hole left by Nance was to big to fill as the Pokes fell to the Colorado State Rams (15-13, 6-9) 82-67. "Senior guard Nathan Sobey scored 15 points and the University of Wyoming men's basketball team was tied with Colorado State, but the Rams used a 15-2 run midway through the second half to earn an 82-67 Border War victory over the Pokes on Saturday afternoon in Moby Arena. The Cowboys suffered just their second loss by double figures this season, as the Rams evened the series at 16 games apiece in Mountain West play." http://www.gowyo.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/022214aaa.html

The Cowboys will look to better their Mountain West Conference record come Tuesday against Air Force. That game can be heard on our sister station AM 1030 KTWO.
