It's time the University of Wyoming Cowboys Men's basketball team get a little love from the Associated Press in their national rankings. It's time the Pokes move into the top 25. Really!! It's time!! Lets quit quibbling. Larry Shyatt's 2012-13 team is consistent on defense, unselfish on offense and have proven they can win on the road as well as at home with wins over nationally ranked Colorado, Illinois State, and Santa Barbra, that they can ball with the other teams that are currently nationally ranked, that are in the Mountain West Conference. Teams like New Mexico, UNLV and San Diego State. So lets quit quibbling and get the cowboys the love they deserve when it comes to placing them in the Top 25.

The Cowboys dispatched Panhandle State College out of Oklahoma Saturday night to take their over all record to 10-0. Thats Un-Defeated after Thanksgiving.  Senior forward Leonard Washington, senior guard Derrious Gilmore and sophomore forward Larry Nance Jr. combined to score 29 of the University of Wyoming's 34 second-half points and guide the Cowboys to a 74-55 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday afternoon in the double A. The Pokes (10-0) were tied with the Aggies with 11 minutes left in the second half, before the Cowboys shooting group sparked a 25-6 run to end the game.

Washington was on fire as he posted his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds to go with two blocks and two assists. Gilmore posted 21 points thanks to a career-high six threes, while Nance Jr. had 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists. In addition Pokes senior guard Luke Martinez rounded out UW's double-figure scorers with 12 points, as he hit two threes to climb into UW's all-time top 10 in three-point makes with 109. Sophomore guard Jack Bentz notched a career-high four assists.

And now the Buzz really begins for the Cowboys. The State of Wyoming has been yearning for a positive basketball buzz since the days of....well Steve McClain. And now it appears things are moving in an up words trend. Better get your tickets early for the Wyoming - Colorado State or New Mexico games

The Pokes now have 10 days off, before hosting Denver University on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium.
