What if it were in the belly of the plane instead of on top?

Aerospace engineering company Windspeed is talking with an aircraft manufacturer to offer a radical departure from traditional airplane seating. SkyDeck, in theory, would seat two passengers on top of the plane, inside your own little dome, instead of inside.

This option would add challenges of lots of added weight, fewer seats, aerodynamic drag that would have to stabilize the airflow over the fuselage before it reached the rudder, keeping the aircraft sealed and other concerns. The cost would be prohibitive for most and its not a sure thing that it will make it to market, but it sure would be cool, until you hit some crosswinds.

Would you sit in the dome? What if it were in the belly of the plane instead of on top?
