Cooler Conditions Moving In; South to See Best Chance of Precipitation

As a cold front drifts through today, temperatures will be cooler in the central and southern portions of the state.  Unfortunately, it does not look like there will be much in the way of precipitation for those areas.   Along with the cooler conditions, the front will also bring in some strong winds.  The northeast is under a Red Flag Warning through 6pm tonight.   There northwest winds could gust to 40 mph at times.

It will still be a warm day in the south with highs in the upper 70s to the mid 80s.  As the front moves further south, it will combine with atmospheric moisture coming up from this south.  This will bring the southern third of the state (especially along I-80) fairly good chances for showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon through tonight.   Cooler air will filter into southern Wyoming for Wednesday, and there will continue to be chances for additional showers in the southeast.
