Cheyenne Frontier Days – Saturday, July 23rd
Day 2 of the 120th Daddy Of ‘Em All is on at Frontier Park, F. E. Warren Air Force Base (with Fort DA Russell Days) and downtown Cheyenne, starting at 8am for the active. Don’t forget The Cowboy Triangle transportation loop between Frontier Park, Downtown and Park-N-Ride. It can save you a lot of hassle. Wyoming Tribune Eagle put together a calendar, with the highlights listed below.
Saturday events include:
9 am Parade downtown
9 am Fort D.A. Russell Days living history demonstration. Fort D.A.Russell Days provides access to F.E. Warren Air Force Base where you can see how the fort came to be in 1867 up to the modern missile base it is today. You can see some of what it took to survive before there were matches, Zippos and Bic lighters
9am tour F. E. Warren Air Force Base ICBM and Heritage Museum, Minuteman ICBM launch facility and helicopter hanger. Meet the “Missileers” and see how our missile defense system works. I found the tour of the true to life training facilities incredibly interesting and could have spent hour and hours learning more about this amazing facility and the dedicated men and women who make it all happen.
10 am Western Experience military veterans and profession horse trainers demonstrate horse and burro gentling techniques at Frontier Park
10am Indian Village opens
10:30 Carnival and Midway opens
11am Native American Dance performance also at 3 and 6pm.
12N Gunfight Demonstration at Fort DA Russell Days F. E. Warren Air Force Base
12:15 Rodeo Grand Entry and CFD Rodeo
