Actor Channing Tatum, who had audiences swooning when he appeared as a stripper in the 2012 film Magic Mike, has been named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2012.The actor joins the select club of Hollywood heartthrobs who have taken the title since the magazine first began bestowing it in 1985.

Tatum, 32, hails from Alabama. He reportedly loves giving massages to his wife, actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, and wants to start a family.

“I’m ready; I think she’s ready,” he tells People in the issue, which hits newsstands Friday. “The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that.”

“It’s really easy for us guys to say, ‘I want, like, 15 kids,’” Tatum continues. “Jenna will be like, ‘Well, you better get another wife!’”

Actor Bradley Cooper received the honor last year. Other previous Sexiest Men include Mel Gibson, Nick Nolte, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Richard Gere.
