Celebrate 20 Years Of Music In The Meadow
“Raindrops on ponchos, and banjos on stages / Roots music honchos, and fun for all ages / Rustling leaves, and great gospel sings…”
If these are a few of YOUR favorite things, you may just be a fan of the annual Beartrap Music Festival. And we’ve got great news for you!
We’re hard at work putting together this year’s 20th anniversary Festival (Can’t believe it’s been 20 years? Join the club…) on August 2 and 3 in the meadow atop Casper Mountain, and there’s a very good probability it’ll be the best ever. Our theme is “Family and Friends,” and for starters we’re bringing back The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band–the most popular headline act in the history of Beartrap.
In their four-plus decades together, The Dirt Band (as they’re known to their family and friends) have created the timeless bluegrass/country fusion album “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” which incidentally introduced the Carter Family and Vassar Clements to a wider audience. And NGDB continues to produce great new music while rockin’ their classics with unmatched harmony and skill.
Speaking of family and friends, we’re bringing back a host of musical artists with local ties: such as Spencer Bohren, Littlest Birds, Jalan Crossland, The Tremors, and Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes.
All of which is not to mention the new acoustic-and-roots bands we’ve discovered over the past year. Just watch this space in coming days for updates as the acts are confirmed. And don’t forget the traditional gospel session on Sunday morning, August 3. And the usual tantalizing contingent of vendors, foods, and kids’ activities, both days. And as always, the free camping.
And, and, and… Actually, there just aren’t ENOUGH “ands” for Beartrap, which is why fans, friends, and family continue to discover something new here each year.
What to do in the meantime? Most important is to get your tickets–they’re on sale now, here on this very website. And prepare to join us for a 20th anniversary celebration to top them all.
Which is saying a lot. See you there!
