‘Jackass 3D’ was (another) huge hit in the franchise, so ‘Jackass 4′ always seemed like something of an inevitability. But part of the fun of ‘Jackass 3D’ was watching the stunts catch up on the aging cast and there was some speculation, they’re retire after completing the trilogy. Not quite. ‘Jackass 4′ looks like it could be on the way after all…
It’s that time of year again for brides to walk down the aisle, and soon-to-be brides to stay at home watching ‘Bride Wars’ and hoping their dresses look half as good as Anne Hathaway‘s or Kate Hudson’s. Oh wait, they can be.
Thanks to high school English class, just about everybody has read the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic ‘The Great Gatsby.’
In 1974, the book was adapted into a movie starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, and now ‘Moulin Rogue’ director Baz Luhrmann is taking a crack at the early 20th century tale of reinvention with Leonardo Dicaprio in the title role.
One of the new movies this weekend details how the Vibrator came to be invented way back in Victorian times. It stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Hugh Dancy.
Ryan Reynolds has not had an easy time with franchises. He’s the kind of handsome, charismatic and blandly likeable actor you’d think would be leading his own action franchise by now but despite a few attempts – his ‘Blade’ spinoff went nowhere, ‘Deadpool’ continues to go nowhere and the less said about ‘The Green Lantern’ the better – has come up empty.
But if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Enter: ‘Highlander.’

Is Will Ferrell’s ‘Anchorman’ sequel going to be a ‘Chorus Line’-style musical? Probably not. That’s too much to ask. But that’s the vibe I’m getting off of this early teaser poster for ‘Anchorman 2,’ which may (or may not) be subtitled ‘The Legend Continues.’
‘Snow White and the Huntsman‘ has a lot going against it. It’s the second ‘Snow White’ movie to come in just a few months (‘Mirror, Mirror’ hit theaters in late March), it’s attempting to put a modern, action-movie spin on the classic fairy tale, and it stars Kristen Stewart, an actress frequently criticized for her wooden line readings.
Yet despite all this, we can’t help but think ‘Snow White’ looks pretty damn good.
Did you go see ‘The Avengers‘ this weekend? Are you a big ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ fan? Do you still watch old episodes of ‘Firefly?’ If you answered yes to any of those things, Joss Whedon has something he wants to tell you.
Thanks.
The fourth ‘Scary Movie’ hit theaters in April 2006, and topped out at $90.7M at the domestic box office. It didn’t set the world on fire, but it earned enough to warrant ‘Scary Movie 5,’ which tentatively is set to open on Jan. 11, 2013. Just don’t look for series staple Anna Faris, who plans to pass on the franchise that launched her comedic career.
