Fire Restrictions In Effect For Natrona County

Because of the dry conditions, a burn ban has been put into effect for Natrona County.  The Natrona County Commission placed partial fire restrictions in place, which include:

Fire Evacuations In Converse County

The Converse County Sheriff’s Office has initiated evacuations for people living in areas threatened by a rapidly growing wildfire. The evacuations run from County Road 24, known as Cold Springs Road and Fetterman Road, which is County Road 16 in the north, all the way to the Albany County line.

Area fire crews were battling a wind-swept blaze at Dempsey Acres near Mills Sunday afternoon. The fire began as a grass fire, but spread quickly in the strong winds, and has since destroyed several buildings.

Casper Police Say Husband Killed Wife, Then Committed Suicide

Police have confirmed that a Casper man fatally shot his wife with a .38 caliber revolver before killing himself. The bodies of 60-year-old Walt McMillin and his 55-year-old wife Jodi were found the morning of May 17th in the living room of their home on the 400 block of West 12th.
