Casper Youth today. They drive around our city getting MIP's, DUI's and creating havoc. They vandalize, smoke spice and engage in unhealthy and immoral behavior. Look again. There are kids in our community that are making a unique difference, every month, because they want to. Choose to. They are called to. Here in Casper there is a group of young people that are UN-heard of in their kindness. UN-known for their caring. And are willing to go out into the community and commit "Acts Of Random Kindness!" They go to houses in our community and "ARK!" people. Casper resident Jennifer Sullivan was shocked when a large group of kids knocked on her door and asked if they could rake and clean her entire yard. "Initially I was a little taken aback but as I watched them completely rake all the leaves from my yard and clean all the garbage from around the back of the ally I was just kinda overwhelmed with the spirit of these amazing kids. They just lifted my spirit like more than anything I had experienced in such a long time."  The kids are members of First United Methodist Church in Casper Youth Group. Once a month these wonderful kids go through out the community and see where they can "serve" others in a variety of ways. This is a new program that the kids them selves came up with. The kids come up with ways that they can give back to the people of Casper that give so much to them. The group literally drive around randomly through out the city, some one says "lets go to that house" and knock on the door, identifying themselves and then they ask if the household would mind being "ARK"ed. The kids will then do a variety of services for that family or individual for free. The services range from doing yard work to snow removal in the winter to even going up to the Natrona County Animal Shelter and cleaning kennels. According to Kathie Walker, Director of Education and Youth Ministries, the program is very "Christ Driven." "The kids pray before they leave for God to lead them to the people who He would like them to serve. One amazing thing we did was we went to a random house one day, where a cancer patient just started chemotherapy, and was blessed to have the kids come to her house and help her clean, sweep and allow the Act Of Random Kindness to help her in her life". So to those that say there is nothing "good" with the kids of Casper the members of the First United Methodist Church Youth Group say watch out because you could be the next to be "ARKed"!!!
