We've enjoyed the North Platte River immensely over the summer. Whether fishing, floating, or swimming the time has flown fast.

Now it's time to pitch in and participate with the Platte River Revival and the BLM, for the 8th annual Platte River Revival volunteer day. Saturday, September 27th is National Public Lands Day. The cleanup starts at 8am and concludes at 1pm.

If you volunteer here's the expectations:

Organizers expect over 400 volunteers that will help remove litter and debris from the river and its banks, wire-wrap trees to protect them from wildlife including beaver and deer, and remove Russian olives. “The people of Casper have shown a tremendous amount of support for restoring the North Platte River and have made this the largest National Public Lands Day event in the nation. We are proud of the Casper community and look forward to this day of hands-on restoration work,” stated Public Information Officer Anna Rosburg. The Platte River Revival Volunteer Day is a companion to the Platte River Revival Restoration Project. Registration is at Mike Lansing Field from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Volunteers will then move to different locations to work until approximately noon. Anyone interested in volunteering may register at Lansing Field on Saturday; volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian with them at registration. Media is encouraged to attend the event and is asked to check in at the Incident Command Center to be located at Mike Lansing Field. Anna Rosburg will be the Public Information Officer and will be available to coordinate interviews and assist media in getting the stories they are looking for. Additional information is available by logging on to www.platteriverrevival.org.
