A Casper man, already a convicted sex offender, will face trial in Natrona County District Court for sex crimes with a minor.

Earl Dimas, 33, waived his preliminary hearing last week in circuit court.

Dimas is charged with sexual abuse of second-degree sexual abuse of minor, punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment; and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor, each punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment.

Court records say Casper police began investigating an alleged sexual offense with a minor female victim, 15 at the time, in October.

A search of Dimas' Facebook account showed he was in contact with the and the girl started in January 2016, and ended in May 2016. The messages on the Facebook account were overtly sexual. Dimas and the girl had a falling out by March.

In an interview with a detective, the girl said she had sex multiple times from January to March.

In January 2017, the detective also learned from the Natrona County Sheriff's Office that Dimas was in violation of his sex offender registry because he was living in Cody and was not allowed to have a dual registry in Cody and Casper.

In February, the detective contacted Dimas, who waived his Miranda rights. Dimas told the detective he would talk to some people on Facebook, and his two 18-year-old nephews had used his cell phone.

The detective showed him a picture of the girl from her Facebook page. He said he knew her but never spent any time with her. Dimas then asked for an attorney and the questioning ended.

Dimas is being held on a $75,000 bond concurrent with another case.
