The Casper Boxing Club is proud to announce that Casper is home to two nationally ranked amateur boxers.
Nate Kinsman, a 16 year old Kelly Walsh High School Junior, is ranked 6th in the 154 lbs. Junior Olympic National Rankings and is 8th in the USA Amateur Boxing Rankings for 15-16 years old.

“I have to thank the people of Casper for the support that they have shown me these past two years,” Nate Kinsman said when learning of the news of being ranked in the top 10. “There are a lot of people that have helped me to this point, my sponsors, friends, teachers, coaches and all the people at the Casper Boxing Club. I want them all to know that I’ll continue to work hard and earn that #1 ranking.”

Jairo (J.D.) Perez, a 14 year old Kelly Walsh High School Freshman, is ranked 11th in the USA Amateur Boxing Rankings for 13-14 years old.

“I was surprised when I first heard the news,” said J.D. Perez. “I feel blessed to be at this level. To know that all my hard work has led me to this encourages me to work harder at the Regional Silver Gloves this weekend.”

Jairo (pronounced Hi-row) Perez won the opportunity on December 15th to represent Wyoming in the Regional Silver Gloves Boxing Tournament in Oregon January 4th-5th. The Regional Silver Gloves Tournament will bring amateur boxers from Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon together to see who will ultimately move on to compete in the National Silver Gloves Championships in Kansas City, MO. in February.

“Both these young men are great representatives of our community, our state and our sport,” commented Casper Boxing Club Head Coach Clayton Jensen. “Their strong work ethic in and out of the ring is unequaled and the proof is that both these young men have only been boxing for less than 2 years.”
