If you're looking to make a change in your life and are looking for opportunities to grow, The Center for Training at Casper College may have your answer.

Training is being offered for individuals to become dental assistants under the H1-B Wyoming Health Care Solutions Grant.

The grant, provided by the Department of Labor and the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services “provides Casper College with the ability to offer this training to the long-term unemployed, veterans, and underemployed free of charge,” said Ann Dalton, workforce training specialist.

Dental assistants keep a dental office running smoothly and provide important support for dentists including preparation of the work area, making patients comfortable, taking and processing X-rays, and performing office management tasks. “Participants in this program will also receive CPR training and X-ray certification,” Dalton noted.

The deadline to apply for the dental assistant program, which will run on Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 14-Oct. 21 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sept. 19-Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. to noon, is Friday, Aug. 7, 2015. Interested individuals are asked to contact Dalton to see if they qualify at 307-268-2085 or adalton@caspercollege.edu.
