According to a recent report from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there are no safety regulations for carnival rides in the state of Wyoming.

Wyoming is one of only 14 states in the country that doesn't require carnival ride safety inspections, either by state or third party. The state does demand that all carnival ride operators must carry insurance.

While the Department of Agriculture Consumer Health Services has some oversight regarding the safety of food and livestock at fairs and carnivals in Wyoming, city and county agencies are responsible for their own carnival ride safety rules. .

Of the few carnival ride accidents in Wyoming, the most tragic event occured on August 8, 1986, when a 9-year-old girl was killed and 13 people were injured in Rock Springs.

In 2013, a 16-year-old girl suffered severe injuries after a "bungee trampoline" malfunctioned at the Riverton Spring Spectacular Carnival.
