Bryan Cranston Philip K. Dick Anthology ‘Electric Dreams’ Gets Amazon Order

It’s been the better part of a year since learning that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston would produce and star in a new sci-fi anthology series based on the writings of Philip K. Dick, brought to life by Battlestar Galactica alum Ron Moore. Now, Amazon confirms a pickup for Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, based on the author’s short stories.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Sneaky Pete partner Amazon has once again joined with Cranston on the series, as produced by Ronald Moore and Justified alum Michael Dinner. Each episode will serve as a standalone story, composed from a writer’s room of both British and American voices.

The new series is said to celebrate Philip K. Dick’s distinctive vision, which has given rise to past adaptations like A Scanner Darkly, The Man in the High Castle (now renewed for Season 3), Minority Report, Blade Runner and more. Amazon High Castle producers Isa Dick Hackett, Kalen Egan and Christopher Tricarico will also take part in the new series, in addition to James Degus, Maril Davis and Anonymous Content’s David Kanter and Matt DeRoss.

Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams will premiere on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, and set international distribution with Sony Pictures Television and Amazon. Stay tuned for the latest as it arrives.
