Broncos Linebacker Joe Mays has been fined $50,000 for the helmet-to-helmet hit on Houston quarterback Matt Schaub. He was also suspended for one game. Mays will appeal the suspension, and that appeals hearing will be held before Sunday's game against Oakland. Mays is banned from Dove Valley until Oct. 1st, and is not allowed inside Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

The NFL has upheld the Seahawks' 14-12 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. The league said in a statement Tuesday that Seattle's last-second touchdown pass should not have been overturned. However, the NFL did admit Seahawks receiver Golden Tate should have been called for offensive pass interference before the catch, which would have clinched a Packers victory, but that cannot be reviewed by instant replay.
