A Casper teen who is learning many languages, has been honored for making the needed steps to keep his life going in the right direction.

UPDATE: The Boys and Girls Clubs have announced that this morning's event raised $1,000,583.57  .

Danny Villalobos, who is a sophomore at Kelly Walsh High School, was given the 2014 Youth Of The Year Award, by the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming.

He says his parents got him involved in the club more than 10 years ago, and he was having difficulty back then, translating everything from english to spanish and vice-versa for them.

He adds that once he got the hang of it, he realized there were many other languages that the world has to offer, and says he wants to work on being an interpreter.

"Since I knew spanish first, and then knew english, it just for some reason inspired me. I wanted to see what else is out there. I want to try new things, and there's some cool languages out there, the more you get into it."
